Remove the bandage after a minimum of two hours. After you remove your bandage you will want to wash your tattoo. Use warm to hot water and mild ,liquid antibacterial or antimicrobial soap. Satin or Provon soap work very well.
Gently wash away any excess blood and ink to completely clean the area. Do not use a wash cloth or anything abrasive. Your hand is the best tool in this case.
Pat the area with a CLEAN towel or paper towel to get it completely dry. Apply a small layer of an unscented white lotion such as Curel, Aquaphor, or Lubriderm and completely massage into the skin. You will want to do this 3-5 times daily for 10 days.
You can and should shower with a new tattoo. It is ok to get your tattoo wet, just don't soak, sauna or swim for at least two weeks.
After a few days you will notice some peeling or possibly a little scabbing. Don't pick or scratch your tattoo, let it heal on its own. If it itches, slap it. If it's peeling, put lotion on it. If it's scabbing, leave it alone.
Avoid direct sunlight on your tattoo while it is healing. After it is healed you will want to put a minimum of 30SPF sunblock to keep your tattoo vibrant for many years.
